ESD MAGAZINE
By: PATRICIA RUENES SANZ

All in pink

We analyze the why, the when and the how of the fuchsia pink fever in our wardrobes this winter.

Shop windows, catwalks, large advertising campaigns and our Instagram feed respond in unison to one color: pink. Pink in general and pink PP in particular, a color patented by Pier Paolo Piccioli, creative director of Valentino, who together with Pantone devised the most vibrant, lightest and most desired pink of all time.

Despite being the genius who brought it back, the use of pink dates back to the aristocracy, as it is a color that resembles red and represented power and masculinity. Like everything, this vision has been changing over time until reaching our days, directly associated with femininity. In explaining Valentino's fall winter 2021 collection dyed entirely in hot pink, Pier Paolo stated that it was a pigment "symbolic of love, energy, community and freedom".

Thus, this color that sweeps both summer and winter collections, responds to the dominant trend of dopamine dressing, which refers to dopamine, the hormone responsible for pleasure. This trend had its beginning at the end of 2020 when after the hard months of confinement, life seemed to return to normal. With this, dopamine increased as the feeling of euphoria grew and fluorine colors filled our wardrobes as a means of escape and a symbol of freedom.

Getty Images © Designer Gilda Ambrossio never leaves indifferent with her street style outfits and she is always one of the most photographed. Specifically, in this sartorial look, she risks and wins by combining her suit jacket with a white t-shirt and neutral accessories.

In addition to being a very flattering color for our almost non-existent tan, fuchsia pink, the shocking pink that Schiaparelli became queen of, Valentino pink, refuses to leave our closet and remains one more season. From Esdemarca we bring you several inspirational looks so that you can be a knockout and say yes to the most liberating pink.

Getty Images © Model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley appears in military green oversized pants (another huge trend of the season!) Combined with a fuchsia pink blazer that manages to elevate her look and focus all eyes on him. Don't miss out on the bag that matches the jacket: a winning fusion.
