Feathers, feathers and more feathers. And not only are they back in the strict sense of the word, but also, if not in their warmest and most winter facet. Yes, lifelong down jackets have been with us for a few seasons now, and everything indicates that this will continue to be the case this autumn/winter. We could see them stepping on the catwalks of New York, Paris or Milan (thank you, Miuccia) on more than one occasion, and now we can't stop seeing them on the streets. So, what less than to dedicate a post to this garment that has saved us all from a cold at some time.   

We know that it is a coat that not everyone may like, mainly because it has always been typecast as 'sport'. Even so, not even its staunchest detractors can deny that it is practical, comfortable and, to be honest, a bit cool too, right? Something that agrees with Kendall Jenner, Frank Ocean and Sara Jessica Parker herself cannot not be. In addition, recently we have even seen them on red carpets (see Gigi Hadid's Met Gala 2022 outfit signed by Versace), so it is clear that this garment has definitely left its comfort zone, and perhaps forever. So, without further delay and taking advantage of this very 'comfy' trend, we bring you our favorite down jackets; durable garments that will save you from more than one this winter.   

A black down jacket from Calvin Klein:

Black is a versatile, combinable and flattering color. And we can't talk about black anoraks without mentioning Calvin Klein. The designer was born in 1942 in the New York neighborhood of the Bronx, and in 1968, at just 26 years old, he founded his namesake brand in the same city. Since then, his jeans, his underwear and his 'American' style have been recognized worldwide (due in large part to his controversial advertising campaigns, with stars such as Kate Moss or Mark Wahlberg).   But CK does not end there. It's strange considering how diversified the brand is today, but Klein started out designing coats. Today they may have little resemblance to those of then, but what is certain is that they continue to succeed in the same way. Thus, the father of North American minimalism has a considerable variety of anoraks in his namesake firm, and we all love them. The task has been complicated, but at Esdemarca we have selected our favourites; basic, durable and very, very warm. 

Colors (and patterns):

Winter arrives and the color palette opts for the darker pantones, like every year. But that does not mean that we cannot add a touch of color to our looks. In fact, the lines between what is considered 'summer' and what we understand as 'winter' clothing are becoming more blurred, and the same thing happens with tones. White, coral and even neon colors are gradually taking their place in our dressing rooms, and a feather coat can be the perfect garment to add that touch to our outfits.   But since we know that not everyone is convinced by this idea, we have selected three pieces that will please both the most daring and the most classic. We can take almost any garment to work, if we adapt it to the work context. As for down jackets, we recommend neutral tones, such as beige, black or navy blue. Also, they better not be too padded, a more elegant middle ground is ideal for the office.
