January means many things. A new beginning, the start of a year full of possibilities, and... Paris Fashion Week. Well, Paris and the following shows in London, Milan and New York for which we are already counting down the days. But for now, the French capital has already given us enough information to comment and analyse what we'll be wearing this year. The starting signal for 365 days of fashion.

Denim:
Undoubtedly one of the key trends of 2022. With the YK2 fever and its consequent crop tops, ultra mini skirts and low rise trousers, denim has once again climbed to the top of our minds when it comes to choosing a flow2000 look. A pair of jeans with a denim shirt and a matching jacket was a safe bet for fashion just 12 months ago, but we're likely to leave it behind this year. That said, we open a small parenthesis to warn that the wide-leg jeans are saved from the sieve and come stomping (very) strong.

Leggings:
Essential in all four seasons, comfortable and, moreover, extremely versatile. With this description we could only be talking about one garment: leggings. Whether you wear them casually or with more dressed up outfits, good leggings are always the perfect wildcard for the hated 'I've got nothing to wear'. So there's no doubt about it: they'll be with us year after year (so, if you're as big a fan as we are, congratulations).

Anoraks:
Our favourite way to escape the cold without compromising on fashion, especially since athleisure has become the order of the day. What's that? Well, it's nothing more or less than a trend that consists of adapting the most sporty garments to our daily lives, and we've been seeing it since the beginning of the pandemic. Whether it's to follow the trend or to keep warm this winter, a good anorak or down jacket is the perfect purchase for any self-respecting fashionista, and the street style looks of the fashion week prove it.

Colours:
If you've read our last few articles you'll know that pink and red no longer mean 'poke in the eye'. The colours of 2022 and 2023 respectively will cooperate and do wonders for our most colourful looks this season, especially now that the days are slowly getting longer and the beginning of our beloved spring is just around the corner. Don't be afraid to combine them and even create a two-tone 'total look', we assure you that this year they will continue to be on the crest of the wave.

Layering:
The title is the cool way of saying something like 'I wear all the layers I can find in my wardrobe'. And, of course, we LOVE it. It may not be the most practical thing in the world, but it's warm and trendy. It's a fun way to combine different fabrics, textures and colours and still succeed. What more could we ask for? The catwalks haven't given us many clues about this theme, but please, let it continue in 2023.

Leather:
Ever since the iconic photo of Winona Ryder in a leather blazer in the 90's, this material has become our guilty pleasure. In biker jackets, trousers, dresses and even jumpsuits, leather (see also leatherette and similar) has become an indisputable wardrobe staple. Oh, and forget about always opting for black; even if it's one of our favourite trousers, a leather garment in a bright colour can be very special - and if you don't believe us, just look at Jean Paul Gaultier's latest fashion show. Every now and then it's good to bring out our warrior side, isn't it?

Transparencies:
Is there anything sexier than a good transparency? It's been a long time (and a long time) since they left their comfort zone and stopped being relegated to lingerie to become part of our everyday looks, evening dresses and even shoes. Yes, shoes. This time around, we've seen them at Mugler, Fendi and Alaïa shows, in the windows of our favourite shops and - the infallible indicator that they'll continue to be with us - on the streets. So, if you haven't yet dared to wear transparencies, it's the perfect time to start.
